Our proposed school cluster in Mozambique utilizes open classrooms and enclosed courtyards connected along the natural slope of the site, providing a safe space for students to play and learn. Inspired by traditional Mozambique structure, the design features a cost-effective, non-load bearing wall structure with openings for visual connection to the outside, while the roof cascades and collects rainwater for use in a cistern at the northern end. This enables the school to be sustainable and self-sufficient, while also allowing for sharing of surplus water and electricity with the local community.
