Our proposal for a public library set in Gwangtan, Korea--a small village north of Seoul was to create a special place for cultural events and gatherings for the local community. While the ground level is open and inviting, the library’s intimate reading spaces are arranged in a spiral around a central communal atrium. Ample amount of reflected daylight is brought through the central light monitor, shining through the heart of the community library.
